This is not another energy gel.

Most athletes fuel differently on easier days versus harder efforts. RocketFuel covers both with two gels designed to match the demands of each session, giving you steady energy for low to moderate intensity work and powerful, lasting energy when you push the limit.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between TRAIN, RACE, and RACE+, and when should I use each?

TRAIN is made for low to moderate intensity sessions. It has 25 g of carbs in a 2:1 glucose-to-fructose ratio with added isomaltulose, plus 200 mg sodium. It is lighter on the gut, less sweet, and ideal when you are aiming for around 60–90 g of carbs per hour. Use TRAIN for easy spins, steady long runs, or endurance sessions where you want steady fueling without maxing out carb intake.

RACE is built for harder sessions and races. It has 40 g of carbs with a 1:0.8 ratio of maltodextrin and fructose, plus cyclic dextrin for smoother gastric emptying and more sustained energy. It also has 250 mg sodium and a complete electrolyte blend (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium). Use RACE when you are pushing above 90 g carbs per hour, such as in intervals, race simulations, or competition.

RACE+ takes the RACE formula and adds 100 mg caffeine, 100 mg L-theanine, and 500 mg taurine. The caffeine sharpens focus, L-theanine smooths the edge, and taurine supports resilience under stress. Use RACE+ for decisive moments like big climbs, final race efforts, or anytime you want both physical and mental sharpness at the same time.

How do pre-orders work, and when will my order ship?

For full nutrition details, check the product page.

Do you have a caffeinated and a non-caffeinated option?

Yes. TRAIN is always caffeine-free. RACE comes in both non-caffeinated and caffeinated (RACE+).

Should I take RocketFuel with water, and how often should I use gels per hour?

The gels have a slightly runny but not liquid texture. We recommend taking them with a few sips of water for best absorption and gut comfort. How many you need depends on the session intensity. TRAIN is designed for 60–90 g carbs per hour, RACE for 90 g+, and you can mix them depending on your effort.

As a rule of thumb, athletes usually take a gel every 20 to 45 minutes. For example, if you take a TRAIN gel (25 g) every 30 minutes, that equals 50 g carbs per hour, while every 20 minutes would be 75 g per hour. With RACE (40 g), one every 30 minutes gives you 80 g per hour, and every 20 minutes gets you to 120 g per hour.

You can also experiment with this. Especially before a race, it is smart to gradually increase your carb intake in training, make sure your gut tolerates it, and see how you feel with more carbs compared to less. Most athletes perform better with higher carb intake once their gut is adapted.

What carbs are you using, and why?

We use a mix of maltodextrin, fructose, isomaltulose, and cyclic dextrin. Each plays a role. Maltodextrin and fructose allow high carb absorption. Isomaltulose provides slower, more stable release for steady efforts. Cyclic dextrin empties smoothly from the stomach, helping you fuel hard without gut overload and with more sustained energy. By combining them, TRAIN gives you steadier energy for easier sessions, and RACE delivers faster fuel for high intensity.

Will the gels be tested for banned substances?

Yes. There will be regular batch testing with independent third-party labs. All production batches before pre-orders are shipped will be tested for banned substances. We will publish the documentation so you can check for yourself.
